"NSA is a very special place to me. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about some memory of NSA. That place changed me into the person I am today and for that I will forever be in debt to NSA. It gave me the tools to pursue my dream and I hope it does for more students for many, many years to come."
"The choice to go to NSA was a turning point in my life, not only did it help me greatly advance my athletic career, but it also helped me grow as a person. NSA allowed to me to gain access to crucial Luge training facilities everyday, which I believe to have played a pivotal role in my current success in the sport, while simultaneously receiving a great education."
Founded in 1977, National Sports Academy (NSA) offers young men and women from around the world a balance of academics and athletics. The School allows students to grow and develop individually and as part of a close-knit community. A unique college preparatory athletic academy, NSA provides students in grade 9 through 12 as well as Postgraduates, a safe and secure environment in which to grow, develop and excel. Our students are ready to take on the challenge of achieving their potential academically, athletically and personally. NSA provides students the opportunity to fully develop their individual athletic abilities while preparing for the demands of college.
At NSA, we believe in student-centered curricula. Our programs are built around students with varying athletic interests and academic pursuits. Our expectation is that they will excel within the framework of their abilities. Our curricula, small classes, and teachers are supportive and flexible.
NSA is located on the shore of Mirror Lake, right in the heart of the village of Lake Placid, NY. Given our central location, our students often consider the village their campus. NSA is within easy walking distance of the Olympic Center (home of the "Miracle on Ice"), the Lake Placid Toboggan Chute, the Olympic Speed Skating Oval, and the best restaurants, shops and activities in the Adirondack Park. Our building, which once hosted the 1980 Italian Winter Olympic team, now serves as our dormitory and classrooms.
