Student-Athletes Honored at Finals Banquet PDF Print E-mail
National Sports Academy kicked off Final Exam Week with the Finals Banquet, a celebration of academic achievement, leadership, service and character by announcing six awards and inducting five new members to the National Honor Society. This is the first of three year-end events where we recognize student-athlete accomplishments. The Athletic Awards Banquet takes place on Friday June 4th at 6:30 p.m. at the Comfort Inn and Commencement is on Saturday June 5th at 11:00 am at Whiteface Mountain.
 
National Honor Society Inductees
National Sports Aacademy inducted five new members to its chapter of the National Honor Society, which celebrates student achievement in academics, leadership, character and service. The new members this year are: Kathryn Dawson '11, Kaillie Goodnough '11, Brittney Krebs '10, Brittany Moorehead '10, and Paige Sasser '10.
 
Members inducted previously include: Celeste Brown '10, Stephanie DeMars '10 and Rebecca Morse '10 (with National Honor Society Advisor Randy Wint).

Perfect Attendance:
The Perfect Attendance Award recognizes students with perfect attendance: zero unexcused lates or absences during the entire academic year:

Founders Award:
The Founders Award recognizes consistent excellence in academic performance. It is awarded to returning students with four consecutive quarters of honor roll or high honor roll grades:
Rebecca Morse, Paige Sasser, Allison Beall, Stephanie DeMars, Celeste Brown and

Comptroller of the State of New York Award: 
This award is given by the Comptroller of the State of New York to the senior with demonstrated academic success and civic commitment and in recognition of hard work, dedication and success.

The Triple C Award: 
The General Triple C Award is given by New York State Attorney Andrew Cuomo. It recognizes students for their commitment to bettering themselves, their schools and their communities; for their strength in Character and Courage.

Phil Newton Faculty Award
The Phil Newton Faculty Award is presented to one member each of the Freshman, Sophomore and Junior classes, selected by the teaching faculty for his or her academic effort, improvement and love of learning.

Community Service Award
The Community Service Award is selected by the Community Service Committee and presented to one member each of the freshman, sophomore and junior classes, for his or her commitment to the service of others.
