II.Academic Scholarships

St. Lawrence University Augsbury/North Country Scholarship
The Augsbury/North Country Scholarship was established in 1950 and serves to recognize academic and co-curricular leadership among designated North Country and Canadian high school students. The honor comes with a $100,000 scholarship over four years. Students who are nominated and admitted to St. Lawrence, but who are not selected as scholars, receive a $40,000 award to recognize their nomination.

The Rensselaer Medal
The Rensselaer Medal, offered by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, is awarded to a promising junior who has distinguished themselves in mathematics and science. This $15,000 per year merit scholarship is guaranteed for four years (five years for the School of Architecture program) to be applied for each Medalist who is accepted and chooses to enroll at Rensselaer.

Clarkson University High School Leadership Award
This award recognizes a junior who demonstrates strong leadership qualities, who positively impacts his or her school community, and who has a proven academic record. The award recipient will qualify for a $44,000 tuition scholarship over four years, should he or she choose to enroll at Clarkson University following graduation from High School. 
              Kathryn Dawson '11

Clarkson University High School Achievement Award
This award recognizes a junior selected for his or her strong leadership qualities, impact on the school community, and academic achievement.  The award recipient qualifies for a $36,000 tuition scholarship if he or she chooses to attend Clarkson University and, in the event that the Leadership Award winner attends another college, the Leadership Award will automatically go to this Achievement winner.

Elmira College Key
Sponsored by the Elmira College Alumni Association, the Elmira Key has been awarded since 1935, but this is its second year at NSA. This merit award is bestowed upon one outstanding man and woman in the junior year of high school. The Elmira Key holds a monetary scholarship of $40,000 over four years upon enrolling at Elmira.

University of Rochester Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony Award: 
This award is presented to a member of the junior class for outstanding achievement in the humanities and/or social sciences.  Winners of this award are eligible to be considered for a University of Rochester Humanities/Social Sciences Scholarship.  Those selected as Scholars receive a scholarship award of $30,000 over four years of college study at University of Rochester.

University of Rochester Kodak Young Leaders Award: 
A $30,000 scholarship to the University of Rochester is given to one sophomore or junior with strong academic achievement and leadership skills.

University of Rochester Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award: 
A $30,000 scholarship to the University of Rochester is given to one junior with outstanding academic achievement in the field of science.
              Kathryn Dawson '11

Lawrence Technological University Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics
A $32,000 scholarship to Lawrence Technological University is given to one junior with outstanding academic achievement in mathematics and science.
