Philosophy:

The positive influence of NSA's program not only applies to the game of hockey, but also to all aspects of the student-athletes life. Success, self confidence, respect and education are attained as a result of hard work, discipline, and a desire to better oneself. Although individual skills are important, each student will also function as a part of a team. Student-athletes will be able to give and receive guidance and support to their peers. The ability of the participants to assist one another will build character and self confidence. These ideals are stressed on the ice, and they are part of each student's academic and social life. To be a positive part of a team, family, and community are goals that all student-athletes are encouraged to attain.

Facilities:

Lake Placid has twice been the site of the Winter Olympic games. Annually the Village hosts a wide variety of national and international competitions. It is home to many of our top winter athletes. NSA is two blocks from the Olympic Arena. The Olympic Regional Development Authority oversees four ice surfaces enclosed in the Arena, including the 1980 Arena where Team USA defeated USSR in the 1980 Olympics and went on to win the gold medal. The teams' locker rooms and weight room are also located within the Olympic Arena. Along with the Olympic Arena, NSA's athletes utilize a variety of other Olympic venues in cross training for their specific sport.
