Ski Jumping

"You are up the in the air and for a minute it's as if you can fly. It's a feeling like nothing else
I've ever felt, and as soon as I land, I just want to go back up to the top and do it again."
-- Lindsey Van, Sept 26, ESPN “Leap of Faith”

This program offers athletes of all abilities to train under the guidance of NYSEF jumping coaches on the Mt. Van Hoevenberg Olympic X-country venue and Olympic Jumping Sports Complex while completing their high school education at NSA.

Lake Placid has one of three 134 meter jumps coupled with one of best
X-country ski facilities in the United States, both having been used for Olympic and World Cup competitions. Along with the 134 HS, Placid has 100 HS, 48 HS, 20K and 10K hills coupled with of 50 miles of Olympic caliber X-country ski trails.

The opportunity to train all season, develop skills, and increase competitiveness is the highlight of our jumping program.

Of the 7 NSA alumni that participated in the Sochi Olympics, 3 were ski jumpers!
